Not a surprise-Maxx Crosby perfectly sums up Raiders’ season with brutally honest take

Maxx Crosby Offers Brutally Honest Assessment of Raiders’ Struggling Season

The Las Vegas Raiders’ 2024 season has been a disaster, with a 2-8 record and six straight losses after a 2-2 start. Their most recent defeat came in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins, marking their fifth road loss of the year. The team now returns home to Allegiant Stadium to face the Denver Broncos in Week 12.

Despite the team’s struggles, star edge rusher Maxx Crosby has continued to shine, enjoying another strong season. The three-time Pro Bowler has recorded 6.5 sacks and 37 quarterback pressures through nine games, standing out as one of the few bright spots on a disappointing defense.

With the season likely a lost cause, many might expect players to check out, but Crosby remains focused. On a recent episode of his podcast, The Rush with Maxx Crosby, he admitted that the season has been a failure but emphasized his commitment to finishing strong and leading by example.

“No words really, we are 2-8. It’s been a messed-up season, to say the least. Seriously, it’s hard to describe the feeling. You know, being part of such a tough year. I never expected this outcome. But with seven games left, all we can do is take them one at a time, keep improving. My goal hasn’t changed. I love the doubt, the negativity—it’s just another chance to rise. That’s what I plan to do: keep leading, keep showing up, and setting the example. That’s all I can do. I’ll leave it at that.”

Despite the team’s struggles since Crosby joined in 2019, the 27-year-old has remained loyal and expressed his desire to spend his entire career with the Raiders.

Though the Raiders are currently one of the worst teams in the NFL, their future holds promise. The team is likely to select a young quarterback in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft and already has several promising young players, such as tight end Brock Bowers, guard Jackson Powers-Johnson, and cornerback Jakorian Bennett.

If Las Vegas can resolve its quarterback issues and find a competent head coach—since Antonio Pierce’s tenure has been underwhelming—there’s hope the franchise could return to playoff contention in the near future.
