GOOD NEWS: Major uplift Miami Marlins have an exciting prospect on the way in 2025.

An exciting power addition for the Miami Marlins in 2025

The Miami Marlins have an exciting power prospect on the horizon for 2025. While it’s frustrating to see so many rival teams involved in trade rumors, there’s plenty to be hopeful about within the Marlins’ farm system. One standout is C Agustin Ramirez, who I believe will transition from catcher to more of a first baseman/DH role in the long run. Regardless, I fully expect him to make a significant impact.

Looking ahead to 2025, the Marlins seem poised for improvement. With playoff berths now more attainable—sometimes with as few as 84 wins—a team that’s built for postseason success and hits a hot streak at the right time can do some serious damage. The 2022 Philadelphia Phillies and the 2023 Arizona Diamondbacks both proved that with their pennant runs.

The Marlins’ pitching staff remains a strength, and with the right health, they can certainly remain in the playoff hunt. Injuries were a key factor in the team’s failure to return to the postseason in 2024, but let’s not forget that a fully healthy squad helped the Marlins reach the playoffs as a Wild Card team in 2023.

That brings us to Agustin Ramirez. Ranked as the Marlins’ third-best prospect and the 96th overall in MLB by EXO.com, Ramirez had a historic 20-20 season in the Minors, marking just the second time that feat has been accomplished. Between Double-A and Triple-A, he hit .267/.358/.487 with 25 home runs and 22 stolen bases. His power and arm strength are impressive, though his defensive skills remain a concern.

I’m eager to see Agustin Ramirez in the majors next season, hoping he’ll make a strong impression and help propel the Marlins on a legitimate playoff run.
