After the conclusion of Colorado State football’s regular season, Jacob Gardner was named to the 2024 All-Mountain West Football First Team. Eight other players received either second-team or honorable mention accolades, with five of them set to graduate and leave CSU next year.

Gardner was consistently recognized as one of the top centers this season, earning the distinction of the highest-ranked center in the Group of Five according to Pro Football Focus’ latest player rankings. Over the course of 329 pass-blocking snaps, he allowed only three quarterback pressures and no sacks. The experienced lineman is also on the Rimington Trophy watchlist, which honors the best center in college football each year.

Offensive lineman Drew Moss earned second-team honors, while Aaron Karas received an honorable mention. CSU’s offensive line has been a standout component in the new ground attack strategy, contributing to the team’s most wins since 2014.

Linebackers Buom Jock and Chase Wilson were also recognized with second-team honors. This marks the first award of its kind for Jock and the second for Wilson, who together accumulated a total of 191 tackles.

Defensive backs Henry Blackburn and Dom Jones were honored with honorable mentions after their contributions to a CSU defense that ranked fifth among MW schools in both overall rushing defense and pass-defense efficiency.

Defensive lineman Gabe Kirschke and running back Avery Morrow both exceeded expectations this year, earning honorable mentions. In his first full season, Kirschke recorded 5.5 sacks, 34 total tackles, two forced fumbles, and an interception. Morrow averaged 5.8 yards per carry, finishing with 956 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.
