Two key players from the Detroit Red Wings will be participating in the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament this February.

Dylan Larkin was selected for Team USA, while Lucas Raymond earned a spot on Team Sweden. The tournament, which replaces the NHL All-Star Game this season, will take place from February 12-20 in Montreal and Boston. Teams from the U.S., Sweden, Canada, and Finland will compete, with each squad playing three games. The top two teams will face off in a winner-takes-all finale. All players involved will be from the NHL.

Raymond’s inclusion on the Swedish team was expected, but Larkin had to secure his spot from a highly competitive group of forwards. Larkin is having a solid season, with 12 goals and eight assists in 25 games. Though this is an NHL event, Larkin has previously represented the U.S. at the World Championships in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.

The rest of Team USA includes forwards Matt Boldy, Kyle Connor, Jack Eichel, Jake Guentzel, Jack Hughes, Chris Kreider, Auston Matthews, J.T. Miller, Brock Nelson, Brady Tkachuk, Matthew Tkachuk, and Vincent Trocheck, along with defensemen Brock Faber, Adam Fox, Noah Hanifin, Quinn Hughes (Michigan), Charlie McAvoy, Jacob Slavin, and Zach Werenski. The U.S. goalies are Connor Hellebuyck, Jake Oettinger, and Jeremy Swayman.

Canada’s goaltending options include Jordan Binnington, Adin Hill, and Sam Montembault, as Cam Talbot, who had been performing well, is sidelined with a lower-body injury.
