NHL and NHLPA Make Unfavorable Decision for Jets as Three Key Players Involved in 2024 4 Nations Face-Off

The Winnipeg Jets, in collaboration with the National Hockey League (NHL) and the NHL Players’ Association (NHLPA), have confirmed that forward Kyle Connor, goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, and defenseman Josh Morrissey will represent their respective countries at the 2024 4 Nations Face-Off. The event will take place in Montreal, Quebec, and Boston, Massachusetts, from February 12 to 20/25.

Kyle Connor, 28, is currently leading the Jets with 13 goals and 29 points in 26 games this season. The Shelby Township, Michigan native ranks among the top American-born players in the NHL, tied for second in goals and third in points for the 2024-25 season. He was named the NHL’s Second Star of the Month for October and has previously earned a gold medal with Team USA at the 2014 World Under-18 Championship.

Connor Hellebuyck, 31, leads NHL goaltenders with 15 wins and 3 shutouts, and is second in goals-against average (2.16) and save percentage (.927) among goalies with over nine games played. The Commerce, Michigan native also tops American-born goalies in games played, saves, and minutes. Hellebuyck, who won the Vezina and William Jennings Trophies last season, has represented the U.S. at three World Championships, earning a bronze medal in 2015.

Josh Morrissey, 29, leads the Jets in assists (21) and average ice time (24:31) in 26 games this season. The Calgary, Alberta native ranks among the top five Canadian NHL defensemen in both assists and ice time, and is second in points among Canadian-born defensemen. Morrissey has represented Canada in several international competitions, winning a gold medal at the 2015 World Juniors and a silver at the 2017 World Championship.
