Six University of Dayton football players have been named to the Pioneer Football League’s All-Academic Team, as announced by the league office today.
Among the selections, Dayton had four players recognized on the Academic All-PFL First Team.
Center and team co-captain Dylan DeMaison received First Team Academic All-PFL honors for the third time in his career, having previously been named in 2021 and 2023. A redshirt senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, he is majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a GPA of 3.75. DeMaison was also recognized as an All-Pioneer Football League player for the second time yesterday.
Redshirt junior cornerback Jeremy Jonozzo was named to the First Team for the second time. A resident of Broadview Heights, Ohio, he is an Accounting major with a GPA of 3.95.
The First Team Academic All-PFL list also includes two first-time selections: Gideon Lampron, a redshirt sophomore linebacker from LaGrange, Ohio, majoring in Psychology with a GPA of 3.58, who was named First Team All-PFL yesterday; and Gavin Lochow, a sophomore wide receiver from Proctorville, Ohio, studying Communications with a cumulative GPA of 3.74, who received Second Team All-PFL honors yesterday.
Redshirt senior H-Back Cade Beam was named to the Second Team All-PFL for the third time. Beam, from Tipp City, Ohio, is a Finance major with a 3.97 GPA. Also on the Second Team is redshirt junior defensive tackle Nate Hess, who hails from Hartland, Wisconsin, and has a GPA of 3.85 in Pre-Dentistry.
The Academic All-PFL teams are determined by votes from the league’s communications directors. The Pioneer Football League’s athletic directors established the Academic All-PFL awards in 1993 to honor the league’s exceptional student-athletes. To qualify, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or a key reserve and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher on a 4.00 scale.
