The talented player entered the transfer portal as soon as it opened on Monday, as reported by 247Sports.
Virginia Tech had high hopes for Stroman, a versatile starter heading into his senior year with 106 career tackles. Unfortunately, he sustained a shoulder injury while attempting a tackle against Vanderbilt and hasn’t played since.
Stroman has the option to redshirt and maintain an extra year of eligibility.
He concludes his career at Virginia Tech with a total of 111 tackles across 36 games and eight starts.
His departure weakens the safety position, where he was anticipated to be a starter in 2025. The group is getting younger, especially with Jaylen Jones having exhausted his eligibility.
The primary returning players are redshirt sophomore Mose Phillips, who started every game, and freshman Quentin Reddish, a significant contributor off the bench. However, there is a lack of experience beyond them, with Devin Alves, Braylon Johnson, Cameren Fleming, and Noah Jenkins rounding out the roster. Consequently, the Hokies are likely to prioritize adding depth in this position through the transfer portal.
