Wolfpack quarterback CJ Bailey did not mince words.
With rumors circulating about legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick possibly taking the top job at North Carolina, it’s understandable that fans of rival ACC schools might be a bit uneasy.
However, NC State quarterback CJ Bailey isn’t among those concerned.
On Wednesday, Bailey made a bold statement directed at the Tar Heels as the Wolfpack prepares for their upcoming Military Bowl matchup with East Carolina on Dec. 28.
“Shoot, Bill Belichick will get it, too,” Bailey said, according to Noah Fleischman of The Wolfpacker. “We’re going five (straight) years. No matter who the coach is for UNC, we’re going to kick them.”
The Wolfpack have won four consecutive games against North Carolina, marking their longest streak in the rivalry since NC State won five straight from 2007 to 2011.
“It would mean a lot to play against Bill Belichick,” Bailey said. “But if he comes to play, we’re going to dominate them. We’re going to dominate them.”
