Standing at 6-4 and weighing 300 pounds, Petersen is a formidable presence on the field, eager to demonstrate his skills in the Big Ten. Recently, he received offers from multiple programs, including Wisconsin, USC, Indiana, Auburn, and Rutgers.

Ranked as the No. 10 defensive line transfer in the nation and No. 100 overall in the portal by 247Sports, Petersen had an impressive season at Tulane, tallying 21 tackles and 2.5 sacks for the Green Wave.

Originally from Nashville, Petersen joined Tulane as part of the 2021 recruiting class. Coming out of high school, he received offers from schools like Tulane, Central Michigan, Navy, and Murray State. His standout performance in 2024 caught the attention of coaches around the country.

Ultimately, Fickell and Wisconsin defensive line coach E.J. Whitlow convinced him to join the Badgers and be part of their future plans. With Petersen’s commitment, Wisconsin has also secured commitments from Ball State tight end Tanner Koziol and Louisville pass-rusher Mason Reiger. Fans are eagerly awaiting more additions, particularly to see which quarterback will take on the starting role next fall.
