Big Cheers: Longtime UNC Football Electrifying Commit Is Now 100 Percent Heading To The Potential Heavyweight NFL Pipeline.
All nine 2025 recruits who committed during the Mack Brown era are now officially part of the UNC football team. On Tuesday afternoon, Austin Alexander, a defensive lineman from Cooper High School in Kentucky, solidified his commitment to the Tar Heels by signing.
The coaches at UNC are undoubtedly excited to have Alexander officially join the team. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 243 pounds, he is an edge rusher and joins East Forsyth High School quarterback Bryce Baker as the only two composite four-star recruits in the 2025 class.
Baker reaffirmed his commitment to the Tar Heels with new head coach Bill Belichick just days after the 72-year-old’s introduction last week.
The Tar Heels’ social media team welcomed Alexander officially with a post celebrating his addition to the family.
Austin Alexander checks in at No. 420 overall, No. 43 among defensive linemen, and No. 5 in Kentucky on the 247Sports 2025 Composite.
He and the other certified future Tar Heels comprise the nation’s No. 91-ranked class, per 247Sports.
It still sits last among ACC schools. That said, there’s still plenty of time left in the cycle, not to mention loads of potential prizes now on tap to visit in the coming days and weeks, for Bill Belichick & Co. to produce a formidable batch of newcomers.
