Ohio State’s Transfer Quarterback Could Join Emerging Big Ten Rival

The Ohio State Buckeyes may lose one of their transfer quarterbacks to the Indiana Hoosiers. Two quarterbacks, Devin Brown and Air Noland, have entered the NCAA transfer portal, with both set to leave Columbus.

Noland, in particular, is expected to be a highly sought-after target by several top programs. Though he hasn’t played a game at the collegiate level yet, his raw talent will likely secure him a spot at a major school.

Several teams have been mentioned as potential landing spots for Noland, including a rising Big Ten competitor. Brendan Howe of BVM Sports has pointed to Indiana as a possibility. The Hoosiers will need to replace Kurtis Rourke, and Noland could have a real shot at earning the starting job there.

“They won double-digit games for the first time in their history and are heading to the College Football Playoff. With coach Curt Cignetti likely staying on, Indiana is positioned to challenge for Big Ten titles in the coming seasons. Adding an Ohio State transfer would highlight Bloomington as an attractive destination.”

Although Indiana’s hopes were dashed with a first-round loss to Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff, their future under coach Curt Cignetti remains promising.

When Noland initially committed to Ohio State in the 2024 recruiting class, he was a four-star quarterback ranked No. 5 nationally at his position, No. 59 overall, and No. 9 in Georgia, according to On3 Sports.

While Indiana may not ultimately land Noland, it remains an intriguing possibility. He has already received interest from South Carolina, the only team to have expressed interest so far.

Losing Noland is a tough blow for Ohio State, as he seemed like a potential future starter when he first committed. Now, he’s searching for a new home, and there’s a chance he could end up at a Big Ten school. While it’s unlikely he’ll join Indiana, fans would still hope for his success, except when he faces the Buckeyes.
