The offensive line has been a major hurdle for the Minnesota Golden Gophers this season, and head coach P.J. Fleck, along with offensive line coach Brian Callahan, will face a significant challenge this offseason with at least three starters departing. However, they have helped themselves by tapping into the transfer portal and bringing in three new offensive linemen, including Dylan Ray from Kentucky, who is the latest addition.

Ray still has one year of eligibility remaining.

He began his college career at West Virginia, where he redshirted as a true freshman in 2021 and participated in 32 offensive plays in 2022. He then transferred to Kentucky, where he started 10 games in 2023, nine at left guard and one at right guard. This season, Ray played in all 12 games and made two starts at left guard.

With Ray, along with UCF’s Marcellus Marshall and Washington’s Kahlee Tafai, Callahan has restructured his offensive line for the upcoming season. Like Marshall, Ray offers valuable experience and versatility, giving Callahan the flexibility to assemble the strongest possible five-man unit.
