Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are creating something remarkable in the Big 12. They wrapped up the 2024 college football season as the No. 4 team in the standings, finishing with a record of 9-4. Their season concluded with a defeat against the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl. After the 36-14 setback against their Big 12 rival, the Buffaloes are looking ahead, aiming to revamp the roster for a stronger run in 2025. On Wednesday, Colorado officially announced the signing of transfer wide receiver Joseph Williams. “Bringing in more talent,” read a post from the Colorado Buffaloes’ official social media accounts.

Williams joined the Buffaloes after spending one season with the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. During that time, he tallied five touchdowns and 588 yards from 30 catches. Standing 6-foot-2, the Texas native was a significant contributor to the Golden Hurricane’s offense, finishing his inaugural collegiate season with the AAC Freshman of the Year award.
After graduating high school, Williams initially pledged to Tulsa as a three-star recruit, ranking as the No. 119 athlete and the No. 1,362 player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Prior to finalizing his commitment to the Golden Hurricane, he garnered numerous offers from schools including Oregon State, Arkansas State, San Diego State, and Washington State.
