One of Georgia Tech’s young defensive backs has decided to take his collegiate career to another institution. Jayden Davis announced on X, previously known as Twitter, on Tuesday that he has entered the NCAA transfer portal. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound player is a graduate of Collins Hill High School and initially started his career at Cincinnati.
In 2024, Davis participated in 55 special-teams plays for the Yellow Jackets and had one appearance in a defensive role during the team’s defeat against Notre Dame. During 2023, he saw action on seven defensive snaps while at Cincinnati. Hailing from Suwanee, Davis was rated as a three-star recruit by the 247Sports Composite for the class of 2023 and reportedly received 16 scholarship offers. He initially committed to Louisville in 2022 before ultimately signing with Cincinnati.
Davis is among several players leaving Tech this offseason, joining defensive back Taye Seymore, offensive linemen Kai Greer, Patrick Screws, Corey Robinson and Jordan Brown, defensive linemen Horace Lockett, Uche Iloh and Romello Height, wide receivers Eric Singleton Jr., Christian Leary and Leo Blackburn, running back Evan Dickens, linebacker Caleb Dozier, and quarterback Zach Pyron.
While 15 players have said they’re leaving Tech, 15 others have announced their plans to transfer to Tech.
The players include running back Malachi Hosley, defensive end Brayden Manley (from Mercer), long snapper Luke Whiting (from Florida Atlantic), linebackers Melvin Jordan IV (from Oregon State) and Cayden Spaulding (from Tennessee Tech, Miller Grove HS), defensive tackle Matthew Alexander (from Central Florida, Buford HS), tight ends Harry Lodge (from Wake Forest) and J.T. Byrne (from California), wide receivers Debron Gatling (from South Carolina, Milton HS), Dean Patterson (from Florida International), and Eric Rivers (from Florida International), offensive linemen Andrew Rosinski (from North Carolina, Creekview HS) and JaKolby Jones (from Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi), and defensive backs Kelvin Hill (from Alabama-Birmingham, Carrollton HS) and Daiquan White (from Eastern Michigan, Creekside HS).
