Nebraska reserve enters transfer portal.

Nebraska reserve linebacker Ismael Smith Flores entered the transfer portal on Thursday evening, according to a source.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 245 pounds, Smith-Flores started his career as a tight end before transitioning to linebacker before this season.

He redshirted last season and played in two games this year for Nebraska, including the season opener against UTEP, where he recorded a four-yard tackle for loss.

The Texas native was part of head coach Matt Rhule’s first recruiting class at Nebraska and played for the Cornhuskers’ first tight end coach, Bob Wager, at Arlington-Martin High School.
