Durrance, Francl, Baloun & Voorhees heading to Pullman. Volga’s Boden Schiller & Larchwood’s Dawson Ripperda re-affirm commitments to stay at SDSU
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Two more starters from South Dakota State’s football team are heading to Washington State to join former Jackrabbit head coach Jimmy Rogers.
Graduate students Caleb Francl and Matthew Durrance both announced on X/Twitter today that they will finish their college careers in Pullman.
Florida native Durrance played for four years in Brookings, recording 63 tackles and 3 interceptions during the previous season.
Meanwhile, Nebraska native Francl has been with the program for five years, amassing 78 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and one sack last season.
Additionally, defensive lineman Max Baloun and running back Kirby Voorhees are the fourth and fifth known Jackrabbits to move to Pullman, joining Francl, Durrance, and Angel Johnson. Voorhees, a redshirt freshman from Florida, has three years of eligibility left, while Baloun, a graduate student from Redfield, has one year remaining.
On Sunday, SDSU fans received some positive news from two local players on the defensive side. Sophomore defensive lineman Dawson Ripperda and linebacker Boden Schiller confirmed their commitments to join SDSU.
Ripperda, a West Lyon graduate from Larchwood, Iowa, has two years of eligibility left. Over the past two seasons, he has participated in 22 games, including all 14 last season, where he recorded 23 tackles, with 5.5 being for a loss and 2.5 sacks.
Schiller, originally from Volga and a graduate of Sioux Valley, redshirted last season and still has four years of eligibility left.
