The Nebraska Cornhuskers are coming off one of their strongest seasons in recent years, finishing with a record of 7-6 overall and 3-6 in conference play, placing them 12th in the Big Ten. They also secured a victory over the Boston College Eagles in the Pinstripe Bowl, marking their first bowl game win since 2015. A significant part of Nebraska’s success can be credited to freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola, who was the standout of their 2024 recruiting class and ranked as the No. 7 prospect in the country. Fortunately for Raiola, head coach Matt Rhule has been actively working to enhance the team’s talent through the transfer portal for the upcoming year. Their newest recruit is offensive tackle Elijah Pritchett, who has spent his entire college career with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
In the 2024 season, Pritchett, who is 6’6″ and weighs 312 lbs., had considerable playing time and started 10 games at right tackle. Coming out of high school, 247Sports rated him as a five-star prospect, placing him as the No. 4 offensive tackle and the No. 31 player nationally. Pritchett is among several potential game changers that Nebraska has added, which also includes four-star wide receivers Dane Key and Nyziah Hunter, as well as three-star wide receiver Hardley Gilmore IV. Given that their offense ranked 103rd in points per game (23.5) and 94th in total yards per game (359) in 2024, these additions appear to be essential.
