ET. The winner of this matchup will move on to the College Football National Championship, where they will compete against the victor of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl featuring the Texas Longhorns and Ohio State Buckeyes. The National Championship is scheduled to take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, on Monday, January 20, also at 7:30 P.M. ET.

Jeremiyah Love has been dealing with a persistent knee injury since the conclusion of the regular season. He initially hurt his knee in the third quarter of the regular-season finale against the USC Trojans and did not return to play. Despite the injury and also suffering from flu-like symptoms, he participated in the first-round playoff game against the Indiana Hoosiers. Unfortunately, during the third quarter of the Sugar Bowl against the Georgia Bulldogs, he aggravated his knee issue and had to spend time in the medical tent. He ultimately did not come back into the game and was seen wearing a brace on his right knee.

Notre Dame held practice sessions on Sunday and Monday this week, where Jeremiyah Love participated as a limited participant while wearing a brace on his right knee. The Fighting Irish released their final injury report for the week, designating him as questionable. During a joint press conference on Wednesday, head coach Marcus Freeman informed the media that Love had a productive week of practice and that they would approach his knee injury cautiously. Freeman stated that although Love isn’t at full strength, he will be ready to play tomorrow night, likely in a limited role.

“He’s had a good week of practice. We need to be careful about how much we ask of him during practice,” Freeman mentioned at the Orange Bowl press conference. “No one is fully healthy right now. He’ll be ready to go.”
