Christian Harrison, who started 10 games for Tennessee this past season, revealed on Thursday that he will be transferring to Cincinnati for the next season.

The son of former NFL defensive back and 15-year veteran Rodney Harrison, Christian opted for Cincinnati after visiting Indiana, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss. He will have two years of eligibility left after redshirting in 2023.

As noted above, Harrison accumulated 31 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and a pass deflection during his time at Tennessee, with most of his production coming in the recent season. Although he wasn’t a full-time starter for the Volunteers, he had significant playing time in the secondary this year.

Harrison was one of two defensive backs from Tennessee to enter the transfer portal, alongside Jordan Matthews, who committed to Vanderbilt last month. The Vols lost 18 players overall to the portal and have since gained commitments from Alabama wide receiver Amari Jefferson and Arizona offensive guard Wendell Moe Jr.

Given that Harrison started several games for one of the top defensive units in the country last season, it’s likely he will have plenty of starting opportunities at Cincinnati, which finished the season with a 5-7 record.
