Deion Sanders sent a two-word message to Travis Hunter amid the criticism he and his fiancé, Leanna Lenee, faced. While Hunter earned numerous accolades in December, including the Heisman Trophy, he also became the target of criticism, particularly about his relationship with Lenee. This led Hunter and Lenee to temporarily deactivate their social media accounts.
In response, Sanders shared his advice to Hunter during an appearance on the Tamron Hall Show Friday: “Don’t stop.” He explained that it hurt him to see Hunter deactivate his account and emphasized that the “enemy” wanted him to stop, but Sanders urged him to keep moving forward and not get caught up in negativity. Sanders also pointed out the financial consequences of deactivating his account, reminding Hunter about his endorsements and the importance of staying active on social media.
Before the Buffaloes’ bowl game against BYU, Sanders had also expressed his support for Hunter in front of the team, saying, “You know we love you. We got you. We appreciate you. You are him.”
Since then, Hunter has reactivated his account and was seen with Lenee in Las Vegas at Sports Illustrated’s annual awards, where he was honored as the 2024 Breakout Star of the Year.
