Bison standout junior set a team record for touchdown receptions this season
One of the most sought-after players in the NCAA transfer portal is no longer available. North Dakota State receiver Bryce Lance took to social media to announce that he will be returning for his senior season.
After a standout season that established him as one of the premier receivers in NCAA Division I FCS, Lance was seen as a top prospect for a higher level. He shared a simple message on X: “Run it back.”
“The past few days have been stressful for all our players,” remarked Bison head coach Tim Polasek. “Bryce was probably inundated with questions. It’s fantastic to see one of our best players decide to come back.”
In addition, two other key players for the Bison, linebackers Enock Sibomana and Logan Kopp, also announced their return on social media.
This season, Lance emerged as a standout player with 75 catches for 1,071 yards and a school-record 17 touchdowns in a single season. He proved especially impactful in key moments, making three touchdown catches in the FCS semifinals against South Dakota State and recording nine receptions in the championship game against Montana State.

The Bison triumphed over the Bobcats with a score of 35-32. The 30-day transfer portal window closed on December 28, but players from that game have an additional five days to decide, which ends on Saturday.
As of midday Friday, NDSU had no new players entering the portal who hadn’t already declared before the championship game. On the other hand, Montana State saw three of its key players—running back Scottre Humphrey, fullback Rohan Jones, and All-American offensive lineman Conner Moore—enter the portal. Humphrey has received multiple FBS offers, including those from North Carolina, Ole Miss, and Boise State.
Additionally, there will be a 10-day spring transfer window from April 16 to 25. Last year, NDSU lost standout receiver Eli Green during the spring period.
