“Things To Cheer Fans”-Houston Rockets Defeat Memphis Grizzlies in a Nail Biter

Houston Rockets Edge Out Memphis Grizzlies in Thrilling Finish

The Houston Rockets returned home after a three-game road trip to face the Memphis Grizzlies, looking to build on their previous 99-95 victory over them.

Houston started off sluggishly, allowing Ja Morant to find his rhythm early on. However, Jalen Green responded, making his first five shots to keep the Rockets within striking distance.

Memphis held a narrow 60-57 lead at halftime, thanks to a strong performance from Morant.

In the third quarter, Houston kept battling to stay in the game, with Green continuing his hot shooting. Amen Thompson put pressure on Morant, but the Grizzlies’ star guard kept driving to the basket with ease.

Desmond Bane also contributed in the third, knocking down deep three-pointers to help Memphis maintain their lead as the quarter came to a close.

Though it looked like Houston might fall behind in the fourth, they went on a 16-4 run in the final minutes to tie the game.

The game became a back-and-forth affair as time ticked away, but Green gave the Rockets a 116-115 lead with a tough double-clutch layup with under 30 seconds left.

Thompson then sealed the victory by forcing a turnover from Morant and hitting two clutch free throws, securing a 120-118 win for Houston.

Green was exceptional, scoring 42 points on 13-of-18 shooting, playing a pivotal role in the Rockets’ late-game success. His performance marks a strong start to 2025.

Houston now turns its focus to the Denver Nuggets, whom they will face on Wednesday night in Denver.
