The Los Angeles Chargers could be looking to strengthen their pass rush by targeting a new edge rusher ahead of the 2025 season. Here are four players the team should consider in free agency:
Josh Sweat
Josh Sweat would provide valuable depth for the Chargers in 2025. He finished the 2024 regular season with 8 sacks, his second-highest total, and at just 28 years old, the former fourth-round pick still has plenty of upside.
Chase Young
Chase Young, a former top-five pick, could be a strong addition to the Chargers, offering depth to their pass rush. While he may not start, Young is coming off a solid 2024 season with 5.5 sacks and could contribute significantly in a rotational role.
Haason Reddick
Haason Reddick, who had a difficult year with the New York Jets, played in only 10 games in 2024. However, he had been an elite performer for the Philadelphia Eagles, earning Pro Bowl honors in both 2022 and 2023. If the Chargers believe Reddick can return to that level, he would be a prime target this offseason.
Shaquil Barrett
After unretiring late in the 2024 season to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Shaquil Barrett could still have more to offer in 2025. With two seasons of double-digit sacks under his belt and 4.5 sacks in his last full season, Barrett would be a strong veteran addition to provide leadership and depth in a rotational role.
