Houston Texans Stars Lash Out at NFL Referees After Chiefs Loss
A Houston Texans star has sharply criticized the NFL referees following a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Texans were defeated 23-14 by the Chiefs in a tough game. Despite the loss, Houston can take pride in their strong performance throughout the year, even while dealing with several injury setbacks.
During the game, there were multiple questionable calls, with even the broadcast announcers expressing disagreement with many of the decisions made by the officials.
After the game, it was clear the Texans were frustrated with the officiating.
Three prominent players—C.J. Stroud, Joe Mixon, and Will Anderson—voiced their displeasure with the calls. All three expressed frustration, suggesting that they anticipated the officiating would favor Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Anderson was the most outspoken, saying, “We knew it was going to be us versus the refs going into this game.”
Mixon shared a similar perspective: “Everybody knows how it is playing up here. You can never leave it in the refs’ hands. The whole world sees it.”
Stroud also weighed in, acknowledging the tough situation: “One of those things, you know what’s up before you walk into the arena. I can’t argue with the ref and at the same time play football. I gotta go do my job.”
It’s hard to fault them for feeling this way, as several calls were clearly missed, a recurring issue throughout the game. Unfortunately, as the players acknowledged, it’s part of the game.
Despite the disappointing loss, the Texans have plenty to build on for the future. With a strong core, they just need to add some pieces and stay healthy.
Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see how Houston rebounds in the offseason. The team needs to use this loss as motivation to come back stronger next year.
