Nebraska will get a veteran presence back in its secondary for 2025.

Nebraska will welcome back one of its experienced safeties in 2025, thanks to a ruling that extended eligibility for seniors who previously played at junior colleges.

DeShon Singleton, a safety for Nebraska, announced on social media that he will return for another season in 2025. Singleton had been considering a professional career before a decision in the Diego Pavia case allowed seniors with junior college experience to play another year.

In 2024, Singleton wore a single-digit number for Nebraska and started all 13 games, recording 71 tackles, 1.0 tackle for loss, a career-high three pass breakups, one interception, and one fumble recovery.

Singleton played one year at Hutchinson (Kan.) CC before transferring to Nebraska, and his return provides the Huskers with experienced leadership in the secondary, which will be replacing rover Isaac Gifford and cornerback Tommi Hill.
