The NC State football recruiting team is still looking for its third 2026 prize.
Cam Thomas, a linebacker from Lakota West High School (Ohio), made his way onto the quickly expanding 2026 NC State football recruiting list this weekend. Wolfpack head coach Dave Doeren and his staff are now among more than two dozen programs actively recruiting the highly regarded prospect.
The 6-foot-2, 217-pound four-star prospect shared news of his new offer from NC State with a post, explaining that he received it after a visit from the Wolfpack’s offensive line coach, Garett Tujague.
As a junior at Lakota West, Thomas recorded 74 tackles, including 18 for a loss, 7.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one interception.
Cam Thomas is now one of eight undecided linebackers with an offer from the coaches in Raleigh. He is currently ranked No. 245 overall, No. 20 among linebackers, and No. 11 in Ohio in the 247Sports 2026 Composite rankings.
NC State football has already secured two commitments for the 2026 class: three-star offensive tackle Brady Sakowitz from Trinity Episcopal School (Va.) and three-star quarterback Jacob Smith from Reagan High School (N.C.). This recruiting class is currently ranked No. 44 nationally and No. 10 in the ACC according to 247Sports.
