Notre Dame Football Recruiting: 2026 LB/S Sensation Excited On Triumphant Return To Notre Dame

Simeon Caldwell‍ has already visited Notre Dame twice, but the 2026 linebacker/safety from Florida is still looking forward to returning to South Bend for the Irish’s Junior Day this weekend.

He shared with Irish Sports Daily, “The culture and the people there, including Coach (Marcus) Freeman and Coach (Max) Bullough, are just really likable—it’s hard not to feel drawn to them.”

Caldwell’s initial visit to Notre Dame earlier this year set a high bar for his recruiting trips. He described the experience as “great,” highlighting the beautiful weather and the welcoming atmosphere. During his second visit, he was pleasantly surprised by the focus on building personal relationships rather than just football discussions. Caldwell appreciated the opportunity to connect with coaches like Marcus Freeman and Max Bullough on a personal level, emphasizing that feeling comfortable with the coaching staff is crucial for him as he considers his future.

The linebacker has been actively engaging with other recruits during his visits, forming bonds with players who share similar goals both on and off the field. Notably, he connected with 2025 running back commit Justin Thurman, reminiscing about their shared roots in Tampa. This camaraderie among recruits further solidified Caldwell’s positive impression of Notre Dame, where he feels aligned with the school’s academic and athletic values.

Caldwell’s visits have not only been about serious discussions; they have also included fun activities that foster team spirit. He participated in friendly competitions during his latest trip, showcasing his competitive nature while enjoying time with fellow athletes. This blend of competition and camaraderie has made his visits memorable and enjoyable.

Looking ahead, Caldwell is eager to return to Notre Dame for a game day experience, which he considers a top priority in his recruitment process. While he has not finalized a list of preferred schools, Caldwell acknowledges that Notre Dame holds a special place in his heart due to its combination of elite football and strong academic programs. He understands that choosing a school is not just about immediate athletic success but also about long-term opportunities that come with a prestigious degree.

As Simeon Caldwell continues to navigate his recruitment journey, his excitement for Notre Dame stands out. With each visit reinforcing his connection to the program, it will be intriguing to see how this talented linebacker’s decision unfolds in the coming months. His commitment to both academics and athletics makes him a promising prospect for any program lucky enough to secure his talents.
