The Los Angeles Chargers had an impressive first season under head coach Jim Harbaugh, but the coaching staff may not be receiving the recognition they deserve.

After an 11-6 record in 2024, Chargers fans are optimistic about the future. However, the NFL’s end-of-season award nominations don’t seem to reflect the team’s success. Jim Harbaugh was notably absent from the Coach of the Year finalists, and the list for Assistant Coach of the Year should have included Minter.

The Chargers’ defense outperformed teams like the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings in terms of yards allowed per game, as well as passing yards allowed, with just 206.9 per game. Despite big names like Aaron Glenn, Ben Johnson, and Brian Flores being linked to head coaching opportunities, Minter’s performance this season was just as strong.

While Minter didn’t get the accolades, Chargers fans might actually appreciate that he’s not receiving more attention—it means they’ll likely have him around for another season, which is a rarity in the coaching world these days.

I’m very happy and proud of the coaching staff for the Chargers. The L. A. Chargers coaching staff not being recognized is what historically happens to the Chargers year-after-year-after-year. We will be ignored until we win a Superbowl!
