Certainly Not a Surprise-Former 4-Star Notre Dame WR Makes Final Transfer Portal Decision

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish wrapped up the college football season as the national championship runners-up, losing to the Ohio State Buckeyes. They ended the season with a 14-2 record, achieving victories over Indiana, Georgia, and Penn State in the College Football Playoff. Additionally, they secured four ranked wins during the regular season against Army, Navy, Louisville, and Texas A&M. Despite an excellent season for Notre Dame, ending in a national title defeat, several players chose to transfer. On Monday, wide receiver Deion Colzie officially announced his decision to transfer to Miami (Ohio) after spending four years with Notre Dame, according to Pete Nakos.

Colzie wrapped up the 2024 college football season with one touchdown and 41 yards from five receptions. He concluded his time with the Fighting Irish, achieving three touchdowns and 345 yards on 21 receptions. He was initially recruited by Notre Dame as the No. 14 wide receiver and the No. 117 overall player in the 2021 class, according to 247Sports. Colzie is now transferring to the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks, who finished the season as the top team in the MAC with a 9-5 overall record and a 7-1 conference record. Miami (Ohio) ended their season with a 43-17 defeat against Colorado State in the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl.
