Not open for move-NFC teams are serious threat to steal ‘special’ player from Chargers

NFC Teams Pose Significant Threat to Lure Khalil Mack Away From Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers face a tough decision regarding the future of Khalil Mack this offseason, but the star edge rusher may also attract interest from NFC teams. As the Chargers navigate their roster moves for 2025, Mack, a highly talented edge rusher, will be a coveted free agent this offseason.

While Los Angeles is expected to make an effort to re-sign Mack, they could face stiff competition from NFC teams. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler highlighted two potential suitors: the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons.

In a recent breakdown of the Top 50 free agents for the 2025 offseason, Mack was ranked seventh overall. Fowler mentioned that the Chargers plan to try to retain Mack, despite him taking time to consider his future after the season. The Chargers value Mack’s toughness and leadership, and they see him as an integral part of their team.

Though Mack’s 2024 season didn’t meet the high expectations many had for the future Hall of Famer, he can still be a dominant force if placed in the right situation.

With plenty of cap space to work with, the Chargers are in a position to keep Mack, but the real question is how much they’re willing to invest in an aging edge rusher who didn’t have his best year. Thankfully, that’s a decision for the Chargers front office, not me!
