The Iowa State women’s basketball team came very close to upsetting 11th-ranked Kansas State on Thursday night, ultimately falling 87-79 in overtime. Despite the loss, the Cyclones gave the Wildcats a tough challenge, knocking down 12 three-pointers in the game.

Audi Crooks led Iowa State with 28 points and 11 rebounds, extending her streak of double-digit games to 55 straight. Addy Brown contributed 20 points, along with eight assists, four rebounds, and a steal.

Kansas State (20-2, 8-1) remains undefeated at home this season, with Serena Sundell scoring 23 points. Taryn Sides came off the bench to add 17, while three other players also scored in double figures.

Iowa State (15-8, 6-4) entered the fourth quarter down by eight, but managed to mount a comeback, going on a 7-0 run to force overtime. However, Kansas State dominated in the extra period, securing the win.

Brown’s game-tying basket and a crucial three-pointer by Reagan Wilson helped keep the Cyclones in the game, making it a close 71-69 contest before Kansas State pulled away.

Next, Iowa State will return home to face No. 9 TCU on Sunday, with the game scheduled to air live on FS1.
