Auburn Favored to Secure Top WR Recruit as Contenders Narrow
Auburn is emerging as the front-runner for a top 2026 wide receiver recruit as the list of schools still in the running shrinks.
Cedarian Morgan, a four-star wide receiver, has trimmed his list of potential schools down to 10, with Auburn making the cut. The Tigers are competing with four other SEC rivals—Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee—for Morgan’s commitment.
Morgan, who is the top recruit in Alabama, ranks as the No. 2 wide receiver and the No. 10 overall player in the nation, according to 247Sports. The site’s Crystal Ball predictions suggest Auburn and Alabama are the frontrunners, with Auburn having the edge.
On3 has given Auburn a 90.6% chance of securing Morgan’s commitment.

Auburn’s 2026 recruiting class is currently ranked seventh nationally and third in the SEC. The momentum from a strong 2025 class, which has them ranked sixth, is carrying over into the next cycle.
Last season, the Tigers landed six of Alabama’s top 10 recruits, and they already have two 2026 commitments: edge rusher Hezekiah Harris (No. 2) and linebacker JaMichael Garret (No. 9).
Along with Morgan, Auburn is also heavily favored to land four-star edge rusher Anthony Jones.
