Reports: Damian Lillard’s Honest Statement After Bucks-Grizzlies

Damian Lillard’s Candid Reaction After Bucks-Grizzlies Loss

Following the Milwaukee Bucks’ loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, Damian Lillard offered a straightforward assessment of his team’s performance. The Grizzlies, already without Ja Morant for the second consecutive game due to injury, faced a tough matchup against the Bucks’ star duo of Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Despite being shorthanded, Memphis continued to prove their resilience and came from behind in the fourth quarter to claim a 132-119 win.

Jaren Jackson Jr. led Memphis with 37 points, showcasing his all-around scoring ability. After the game, Lillard acknowledged the impact of missing Bobby Portis, especially in terms of size, which had been a strength for the Bucks throughout the season.

“Sometimes they’re just going over the top of us,” Lillard remarked. “That size has been to our advantage, but without Bobby [Portis], it’s been tough for us, especially on both ends of the floor.”

The Grizzlies exploited the Bucks’ size disadvantage, securing 61 rebounds to Milwaukee’s 36 and dominating in the paint, outscoring the Bucks 66-36. Players like Jackson Jr., Zach Edey, and Santi Aldama played a crucial role in that effort.

Memphis will next face the San Antonio Spurs at home on Monday night after the Spurs made headlines with the acquisition of star point guard De’Aaron Fox. The game will tip off at 8:00 p.m. EST.
