Evan Jacobson visited Auburn for the Texas A&M game and for Junior Day, now set to return for an official visit in June.
Evan Jacobson made his first visit to Auburn last fall for the Texas A&M game and quickly decided he wanted to return, which he did for Junior Day. Now, the Top247 tight end from Iowa has scheduled his official visit for this summer.
The Waukee native shared with Auburn Undercover that he will be visiting Auburn officially from June 13-15. Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 220 pounds, Jacobson is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 152 player overall, the No. 11 tight end, and the top player from Iowa. In the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, he is ranked No. 284 overall, No. 13 among tight ends, and No. 3 in Iowa.
“It was an amazing experience,” Jacobson said following his Junior Day visit. “I guess you could say I’m a good luck charm. Visiting was fantastic. Seeing that matchup was incredible; it was a physical game with refs allowing the teams to play. The atmosphere was awesome, just like the football game itself. The fans definitely showed up!”
Tight ends coach Ben Aigamaua has taken the lead in recruiting Jacobson and visited him during the open contact period in January.
“It was definitely a unique experience since I had a lot of one-on-one time with the staff,” Jacobson explained. “I was able to spend time with Coach Freeze and Coach Ben to discuss football. It was really beneficial. I learned about their approach to tight ends and their plans for my development, which I found very encouraging.
“I think it gave me a better understanding of what Auburn football embodies: family, faith, and football. Those values resonate with me a lot. I’m really passionate about faith, integrity, and mental toughness—it’s something that genuinely excites me.”
Currently, Auburn has seven commitments in its 2026 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 7 in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings.
