Exciting News Alert: Elite 5-star in-state tight end gives Georgia great news

Can Georgia keep the trend going and bring in another elite tight end this recruiting cycle?

Georgia football and head coach Kirby Smart are making significant strides in recruiting. While Smart and his staff are not hesitant to recruit top players from all over the country, in-state recruits hold a special level of importance. This becomes even more critical when the recruit is among the highest-ranked in the nation.

One in-state recruit Georgia is focusing on is one of the top tight ends in the country. While Georgia is in a strong position, his recently released top five schools indicate that it will be a challenging competition for UGA to win.

5-star TE Kaiden Prothro

Kaiden Prothro, a five-star tight end from Bowdon, GA, is ranked as the No. 21 overall player in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also the No. 2 tight end and the No. 2 overall player from Georgia.

Recently, Prothro revealed his top five schools, and unsurprisingly, Georgia made the list, as reported by Hayes Fawcett of On3. However, Georgia will face tough competition from other SEC schools, as Florida, Auburn, Texas, and Alabama also made his top five.

Prothro is expected to take official visits to all five schools later this summer, including one to Georgia, which he has already scheduled for May 30 through the entire weekend. While he has visited campus multiple times before, this will be his most significant visit during his recruitment.

Although this recruitment will be highly competitive, Georgia fans can be optimistic given Prothro’s in-state ties and the Bulldogs’ strong history of developing top-tier tight ends.
