College Football News: Major Update on High Value Oklahoma State Stars-“The Future is Bright”

A few former Cowboys could showcase their skills in Indianapolis.

Oklahoma State will be represented at the upcoming NFL Draft Combine.

On Thursday, the NFL released its full list of invitees for the event, which runs from Feb. 24 to March 3. The combine provides prospects with a crucial opportunity to showcase their skills ahead of April’s draft.

Three standout OSU players received invitations: Ollie Gordon, Collin Oliver, and Nick Martin. Their inclusion comes as no surprise, as they entered the 2024 season as the Cowboys’ top talents.

Gordon is projected to be OSU’s highest draft pick, and for good reason. Despite a quieter 2024 season in which he tallied 880 yards and 13 touchdowns on 190 carries, his breakout sophomore year put him on the NFL radar early.

In 2023, Gordon led the nation in rushing and earned the Doak Walker Award and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honors. He finished the season with 1,732 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns, securing a seventh-place finish in Heisman voting.

While Gordon shined on offense, Oliver and Martin were expected to anchor OSU’s defense in 2024. However, injuries cut both of their seasons short, with neither playing past September.

Oliver’s year ended in Week 2, but he left a lasting mark on the program. Over his career, he recorded 134 tackles, 42 tackles for loss, and 23.5 sacks, ranking among the best defenders in OSU history. One of his defining moments came during his freshman season when he sacked Caleb Williams on a crucial fourth down to seal a Bedlam victory in Stillwater.

Martin, meanwhile, burst onto the scene in 2023 with an outstanding campaign. He led the Big 12 in tackles with 140, ranking sixth nationally, and added 16 tackles for loss, two interceptions, and a forced fumble.

Though he didn’t get a chance to replicate that success in 2024, his dominant 2023 season has solidified his place as a draft prospect.
