The Memphis Showboats are putting the finishing touches on their UFL roster for the upcoming season, with the recent signings of offensive lineman Alec Lindstrom and linebacker Steele Chambers, both of whom will add depth to their respective units.
Alec Lindstrom
As Memphis works to revamp their offensive line for 2025, bringing Lindstrom back is a significant move. He was originally signed in the offseason before the inaugural UFL season and appeared in eight games this year.

Lindstrom began as a guard in John DeFilippo’s system, but was shifted to starting center in the final two weeks of the season. This adjustment paid off, as it noticeably improved both the running game and pass protection compared to earlier in the season.
After the UFL season, Lindstrom signed with the Los Angeles Rams, but was waived in August before landing with the New York Jets. He spent time on their practice squad until November. With Jim Turner returning to coach the offensive line, it’s no surprise to see Lindstrom rejoin the Showboats, where he’ll aim to build on his development from last season.
Steele Chambers
Chambers is an intriguing addition to Memphis, bringing one of the most unique paths to the league. He played college football at Ohio State, starting his career as a running back, where he had 28 carries for 221 yards and a touchdown in his first two seasons.
He then made the switch to linebacker, where he excelled immediately, recording 47 tackles, a sack, and an interception in his first season on defense. His success continued over the following years, and he finished his college career with 208 tackles, three sacks, and four interceptions.

Chambers drew NFL interest after his college career, signing as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Lions in 2024, but was released in June before training camp. He then joined the New England Patriots, only to be waived at the end of August after recording nine tackles in the preseason.
Now, Chambers joins a revamped Memphis Showboats defense under defensive coordinator Jarren Horton. Horton favors aggressive, hard-hitting linebackers, and Chambers fits that style. He’ll have a legitimate chance to earn a spot on the roster during camp, provided he meets expectations.
With one spot still available, general manager Jim Monos has one final move to make before UFL Training Camp begins on the 27th.
