The pipeline from Glenville to Columbus has been a strong tradition for Ohio State, and it looks like the Buckeyes could add another player from the Cleveland school in 2026.

Linebacker Cincere Johnson, a top recruit for Ohio State, is someone the team is determined not to let slip out of Ohio. The 2026 prospect has already scheduled multiple official visits, including a crucial trip to Columbus.

Johnson’s visit schedule starts with Alabama on May 3, followed by a trip to Oklahoma the following weekend. He will then visit Ohio State on June 13, which is expected to be a major recruiting weekend for the Buckeyes. After that, Johnson will head to USC on June 20.

Ranked as the No. 9 linebacker and No. 117 overall player in the 247Sports Composite, Johnson has received nearly 30 offers, including from top programs like Florida, Michigan, Miami, Penn State, and Notre Dame.

Ohio State has successfully recruited players from Glenville in the past, such as linebacker Arvell Reese, cornerback Bryce West, and tight end Damarion Witten. At 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, Johnson could be the next in that line of talent.

Looking ahead, Ohio State is expected to start Sonny Styles and Reese at linebacker next season, with the position potentially opening up for new faces like Johnson in 2026. While the Buckeyes are currently the favorites in his recruitment, Alabama has also shown interest.

Since taking over as the linebackers coach, James Laurinaitis has been an effective recruiter for Ohio State, bringing in players like Riley Pettijohn, Tarvos Alford, and Eli Lee in the previous cycle.

Johnson is not expected to make a decision until late summer, just before his senior season, so the recruitment process is still ongoing. However, Ohio State is in a strong position as things stand.
