Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers are continuing their strong recruiting efforts, and the momentum doesn’t seem to be slowing down. After securing Top 10 rankings in both high school and Transfer Portal recruiting last cycle, they are already seeing commitments roll in for the 2026 class. Now, they are poised to secure another top-tier defensive recruit during upcoming official visits.
Blaine Bradford, a Five-Star Safety Recruit Blaine Bradford has been regarded as one of the nation’s top football recruits for over two years. He emerged as a consensus five-star safety recruit across major recruiting services, and his reputation has only grown since. LSU has been working hard to keep Bradford in Baton Rouge, where he plays high school football, and they now seem close to securing his commitment. Bradford recently announced a set of official visits, with LSU making the list. If everything goes according to plan, the Tigers will have the final visit, possibly leading to his commitment soon after.

Bradford will also be visiting Ohio State and Texas, two prominent programs that have been involved in his recruitment for some time. However, most experts and insiders believe LSU holds a significant advantage in this race. Despite not taking many unofficial visits, especially given his proximity to LSU, Bradford has consistently expressed his strong interest in the Tigers.
Bradford possesses ideal size, track-level speed, and plays baseball, making him a versatile, all-around defender with the ability to play any position in the defensive backfield. This athleticism will be a huge asset for LSU if they secure his commitment.
LSU recently lost Major Burns to graduation and Sage Ryan to the transfer portal, leaving the team with few reliable safety options moving forward. Bradford’s talent could allow him to make an immediate impact as a five-star player right away. All eyes will be on Brian Kelly and his staff to finalize the deal when Bradford visits officially on June 20th.
