Future NC State Basketball Center Makes Championship Statement
Last year, as a junior, Zymicah Wilkins, a standout big man from Christ School (N.C.) and a 2025 NC State basketball recruit, scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds, helping the Greenies secure their second consecutive North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 4-A title. He averaged 13.4 points and 7.2 rebounds during the season.
Entering his final prep game on Saturday night, Wilkins had elevated his senior averages to 15.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. In the championship match, which ended in a 73-50 victory against the Carmel Christian Cougars, the 6-foot-8, 240-pound powerhouse achieved a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
He and the Greenies concluded the season with an impressive 24-2 record.

Wilkins, who joined three-star guard RJ Greer from Archbishop Alter High School in NC State’s recruitment class, is ranked No. 73 overall, No. 10 among centers, and No. 3 in North Carolina on the 247Sports 2025 Composite.
“We are excited to welcome Zymicah to our team,” said NC State basketball head coach Kevin Keatts during the early signing period in November. “I believe he has tremendous potential as a player. He can dominate in the post, but also has finesse and the capability to play away from the basket.
“I particularly enjoy adding players with a strong winning tradition to our program.”
