Big News: Jets Major Frontrunners To Land $150 Million Star QB As Aaron Rodgers Replacement

Jets Expected to Pursue $150 Million Star QB as Aaron Rodgers’ Successor

Should New York really take this route?

Who will take over as the New York Jets’ starting quarterback following Aaron Rodgers?

How the Jets approach this crucial decision will be one of the key stories of the NFL offseason. In a recent article, ESPN’s Seth Walder suggested that New York could pursue Derek Carr if the New Orleans Saints part ways with him.

“In this scenario, the Jets pick up Carr after the Saints let him go,” Walder explained. “It’s unclear what direction the Jets’ new regime will take after moving on from Rodgers, but new coach Aaron Glenn saw success with Jared Goff in Detroit after the Lions acquired him. Carr may not have Goff’s potential, but he could help stabilize the Jets’ roster. Despite recent struggles, New York has enough talent to rebound faster than expected.”

The Saints are likely to part with Carr this offseason. After signing a four-year, $150 million deal with New Orleans in 2023, Carr is slated to have a $51.4 million cap hit in 2025, with no guaranteed money in 2026.

Additionally, the Jets hold the seventh pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, a potential opportunity to secure a long-term quarterback solution.
