Vanderbilt Adds South Dakota Transfer Offensive Tackle

Vanderbilt has strengthened its offensive line for the 2025 season by adding experienced transfer Bryce Henderson, who spent five years with the South Dakota Coyotes before entering the transfer portal for his final year of eligibility.

Henderson, a 6’8″, 320-pound offensive tackle, announced his commitment to Vanderbilt on Wednesday, marking the 13th transfer addition for the Commodores this offseason, according to Pete Nakos of On3.

Henderson began his college career with South Dakota in 2020, though his season was limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He redshirted in 2021 before making his debut as a redshirt freshman in 2022.

In his first year as a starter, Henderson played in 10 games, starting nine at left guard. As a sophomore, he transitioned to right tackle and started nine games, contributing to an offense that ranked among the top 12 nationally in fewest sacks allowed.

In 2024, Henderson started all 14 games at right tackle for South Dakota, helping the team achieve the nation’s No. 6 rushing offense. The Coyotes had five games with over 500 total yards and four games with more than 300 rushing yards. Henderson earned Second Team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors that season.

With the addition of Henderson, Vanderbilt now has 13 transfers for the upcoming season. However, there’s still time before fall football begins, so the Commodores may continue to seek more talent.
