Titans Share Insight on Potential Re-Signing of Key Free Agent

The Tennessee Titans have several important free agent decisions to make in the coming weeks. One of the key considerations will be the future of veteran quarterback Mason Rudolph. After spending one season with the team and starting five games in place of Will Levis, the 29-year-old will have the option to either sign a new deal with the Titans or explore opportunities elsewhere.

TennesseeTitans.com insider Jim Wyatt spoke with the Titans’ leadership at the NFL Combine to get their thoughts on re-signing Rudolph, and head coach Brian Callahan left the possibility open for another season.

“Mason is certainly under consideration,” Callahan said of Rudolph. “He was a valuable player for us, especially at the backup quarterback position. He managed the room well and performed when needed. I was really pleased with Mason and would welcome him back if it’s the right fit.”

General manager Mike Borgonzi echoed similar sentiments.

“We’re currently evaluating our own free agents and looking at free agents from other teams,” Borgonzi explained. “[Mason] did some good things, and in discussions with Brian, he was solid in the room. We’ve been in touch with his representatives, and we’re going through the process.”

The Titans still have several decisions to make regarding the quarterback position, the most significant being whether they will use their number-one overall pick to select a new franchise quarterback. However, there’s still a chance that Rudolph could return for another season.

Rudolph’s tenure as a starter had its ups and downs, as he posted a 1-4 record with 1,530 passing yards, a 64.0% completion rate, six touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

While it’s not guaranteed that Rudolph will be back in 2025, the Titans are still considering all options as the quarterback carousel continues during the offseason.
