Oregon Star Takes Jabbing Shot at Ohio State Buckeyes

An Oregon Ducks player has thrown a peculiar jab at the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ohio State only suffered two losses this season, one of which came at the hands of Oregon in October, where the Ducks won 32-31 in a close game in Eugene. However, the Buckeyes got their revenge in the College Football Playoff, dominating Oregon 41-21 in the Rose Bowl. Ohio State jumped to a 34-0 lead in the latter matchup, showcasing their superiority.

Despite this, Oregon wide receiver Tez Johnson still seems to be holding onto some frustration. While speaking to reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine, he made a comment about the Buckeyes’ approach in the two games.

“In the first Ohio State game, I felt like they came out and wanted to see who could win skill for skill, just let us play. The second game, they kind of played it like, ‘We can’t hang with these guys skill for skill, so we’re going to try to keep everything in front of us,'” Johnson said.

Essentially, Johnson is suggesting that Oregon was the more talented team, which is debatable, as Ohio State was widely considered a top-tier team, even above Oregon.

“That’s what they did, and for them, it worked,” Johnson added. “We went out there with a good game plan, but they executed better.”

In the first game, Johnson had seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown, but was limited to five receptions for 32 yards in the rematch.
