The Atlanta Braves made a roster move following their Spring Training win over the Miami Marlins at the end of February. Just before March, the Braves reduced their Spring Training roster to 52 players by reassigning catcher Adam Zebrowski to minor league camp.
Zebrowski was drafted by the Braves in the 13th round of the 2021 MLB Draft after attending St. John Fisher College in Rochester, N.Y. Last season, he earned a promotion to Double-A Mississippi, where he batted .216 with a .521 OPS in 56 plate appearances over 15 games. Most of Zebrowski’s 2024 season was spent at High-A, where he hit .220 with a .665 OPS. Over his four-year professional career, primarily at High-A, he has played 195 games, with a .207 batting average and a .659 OPS. During this time, he’s hit 24 home runs, 30 extra-base hits, 83 RBI, and 78 runs in 792 plate appearances.
In college, Zebrowski was a standout, hitting .466 with a 1.489 OPS and smashing 22 home runs in just 47 games. While it’s unlikely he’ll replicate that level of success in the majors, he remains with the Braves organization. The demotion to minor league camp will give him a chance to focus on preparing for his upcoming season.
The Braves have been gradually trimming their roster ahead of the season. Recently, right-handed pitcher Wander Suero was reassigned, and pitchers Davis Daniel and Amos Willingham were optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett. With the roster still having more players than allowed, the Braves will continue to make moves before finalizing their 26-man Opening Day roster.
