The Florida State Seminoles are working hard to build a successful 2025 season after their worst performance since the 1970s. While the focus is on the immediate future, they’re also looking ahead to the 2026 class.
Currently, their 2026 recruiting efforts are shaping up well, sitting with the 12th-ranked class so far. They have seven commitments, including five four-star players and one three-star. This class could improve even further, as the Seminoles are high on many top recruits’ lists, including several within their top 10.
One of those recruits is a standout right down the road from Tallahassee—Trenton Henderson, a four-star defensive end/edge rusher from Pensacola Catholic High School. Henderson, part of the Class of 2026, is ranked highly by recruiting outlets like On3 (No. 29 nationally) and 247Sports (No. 91 nationally). Standing at 6’4” and weighing 225 pounds, he’s a powerful, fast, and explosive player with plenty of room to develop.
During his 2024 junior season, Henderson posted impressive stats, including 90 tackles (45 solo), 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 12 games, according to MaxPreps. Besides football, he also plays basketball at Pensacola Catholic.
Henderson has received 19 offers from top schools like Auburn, Alabama, Florida State, Miami, and Florida. After visiting Florida State and Auburn in January 2025, both programs are emerging as the leading contenders. Henderson is looking for a school where he can grow as a player, and what better place to do that than in Tallahassee, where the Seminoles recently produced the NFL’s Rookie Defensive Player of the Year, edge rusher Jared Verse of the Los Angeles Rams?
