After Indiana’s 84-79 loss to USC in the Big Ten Tournament, Coach Teri Moren addressed the media. She highlighted that the timely three-pointers from USC were crucial, especially after the Hoosiers had pulled within two points.
Moren also spoke about Sydney Parrish’s early foul trouble, stating that while she trusts Parrish and other seniors, the foul that led to her disqualification was avoidable, and Parrish understands the importance of staying on the floor. Moren emphasized how important it was for Lex to step up in Parrish’s absence and noted that the team’s defense struggled to contain Watkins.
Looking ahead to the NCAA Tournament, Moren expressed confidence that Indiana is where it needs to be despite the loss. She feels the team can take pride in their recent performances, including their victory over Oregon and the fight shown against USC. Moren also discussed how injuries earlier in the season impacted the team’s rhythm, but now that they are healthier, they’re prepared for March Madness.
She reiterated that Indiana’s strong history and experience should be enough to secure an NCAA Tournament spot, and regardless of where they are placed, the team will be ready to compete.
