Why It’s Important for Crosby to Weigh In on Team Decisions
The Las Vegas Raiders have made some significant moves this offseason, and defensive end Maxx Crosby has been outspoken about them. But is Crosby out of line for voicing his opinions?
This offseason, the Raiders have experienced a major shake-up. Owner Mark Davis, with the help of minority owner Tom Brady, has brought in two key figures to try and turn the franchise around in Las Vegas.
Pete Carroll and John Spytek are the new head coach and general manager duo tasked with bringing stability to the team. The Raiders brought Carroll in for his veteran leadership and presence, which they believe will benefit the team both on and off the field.
The Raiders have placed their trust in Carroll to provide the necessary stability at the head coach position and to guide the team in the right direction for the upcoming season.
Maxx Crosby, the Raiders’ star defensive end and face of the franchise, has not hesitated to voice his opinions on the team’s crucial decisions. He did so last offseason, and once again, Crosby has shared his thoughts this offseason.
In a recent episode of the “Las Vegas Raiders Insider Podcast,” Hondo Carpenter and Matt Hladik of The Spun discussed whether Crosby should be involved in commenting on such critical decisions.
Carpenter pointed out that while some fans may have criticized Crosby for speaking out—suggesting he should just focus on playing defensive end—he personally appreciates when players share their opinions. “I like it when players are vocal. It shows they care, and it allows fans to react and see if the players are invested,” said Carpenter, even if he doesn’t always agree with Crosby.
Hladik agreed, stating that Crosby’s vocal leadership shows a commitment to the team. “If you’re Maxx Crosby, you’ve made a lot of investments in the Raiders over the years, and you want to see those investments pay off,” Hladik said. “He’s trying his best to make things work and turn the team around.”
