NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal Shares His Thoughts on Damian Lillard

Shaquille O’Neal shared his perspective on Damian Lillard following Tuesday’s game.

The Milwaukee Bucks were narrowly defeated by the Indiana Pacers, 115-114. Lillard had a challenging game, finishing with 15 points, three rebounds, and 11 assists, while shooting just 4-for-14 from the field and 2-for-7 from beyond the arc in 37 minutes of play.

After the game, the Basketball Hall of Famer spoke candidly about Lillard (via NBA on TNT).

O’Neal said, “My guy Dame, 4/14, can’t let that happen. You can’t let that happen… I can’t have one of the best shooters ever go 4/14. I can’t have one of the best players ever taking one shot in the fourth quarter.”

Lillard is currently in his second season with the Bucks, where he’s averaging 25.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 7.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, shooting 45.1% from the field and 37.7% from three-point range across 54 games.

With their loss to the Pacers, the Bucks’ record fell to 36-28, placing them as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. Over their last ten games, they are 6-4, with a three-game losing streak.

Next, the Bucks will host Luka Dončić and the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night.

According to Evan Sidery of Forbes, “Tyrese Haliburton once again pulled out Damian Lillard’s signature celebration after the Pacers’ win over the Bucks. Milwaukee vs. Indiana Round 2 is currently projected as the 4-5 matchup in the Eastern Conference.”
