Tyrese Haliburton Takes Subtle Jab at Pat McAfee After Game-Winner vs. Bucks
Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers delivered a game-winning shot that secured a thrilling 115-114 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, one of the best regular-season games of the 2024-25 season. Haliburton hit a three-pointer while fading to his left and getting fouled, tying the game with 3.4 seconds left. He then sank the ensuing free throw to give the Pacers the lead and the win.
It was one of the most impressive shots of Haliburton’s young career, coming in a crucial game where the Pacers are now tied with the Bucks for fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Haliburton appeared on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday to discuss the game and the dramatic shot. While recounting the play, he threw a subtle jab at McAfee. The game went under review for a potential out-of-bounds violation, which Haliburton likened to being “iced”—a nod to McAfee’s days as a punter in the NFL and kicker in college.

McAfee, who understood the feeling from his own kicking experiences at West Virginia, agreed with Haliburton’s comparison of being “iced” during the review.
Despite the delay, Haliburton stayed focused and nailed the free throw, securing the Pacers’ first win after a three-game losing streak. His presence on the court has been crucial for the Pacers, as they lost every game he missed, with their offense struggling without him.
With Haliburton back, the Pacers are one of the most dangerous teams in the Eastern Conference. They made it to the Eastern Conference Finals last year with largely the same roster.
So far this season, Haliburton is averaging 18.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game.
